Full Version: Sealed Deck Card Pool

This looks pretty straight forward as card pools go, but it's genuine.
I bought four boosters today and not being able to draft anytime soon, I rationaled cracking them by making it a sealed deck exercise for me and all my friends here at Vs Paradise.
Anyway, remember you're trying to build a 30 card deck and probably want at very least 50 per cent characters.
Which teams would you play?
Suggested builds?
Odd or even initiative?
Okay, okay ... here's the cardpool, broken up into teams and sorted by cost for you.

Yes, it's 31, but I always play 41 in Magic, so the habbit is hard to break (and it's 11:15pm)

Sorry for the lack of spoiler. I thought it'd be a bit long if I spoiled each of the cards as well. I tried to make things easier by putting in the recruit costs so people could go straight to the most relevant cards.
Our lists are remarkably similar so far. I'll post mine in a couple of days to give people time to post their own if they like.
The biggest difference was that I splashed into other teams for a few of the bigger drops.
What do you think about that? If you were going to splash two or three characters, which ones would they be?
TheCrimsonScribe
No harm done by omitting the the spoiler info, it is elsewhere on the site after all.

If I was to splash some other guys, I'd probably look at the Bane's and maybe Ra's Al Ghul.
ssteven
I've only gotten about half way through the DC spoiler so far so I probably can't judge very well yet - but I love things like this so I'll post when I know more (should know more today after the draft(s))!
Ike E Bear
Ra's is great but I'd definitely advise against splashing because all versions of him have Loyalty.
I think the loonies from Arkham might offer some good splashes (hint, hint).
TheCrimsonScribe
I honestly didn't look at the spoiler for any of the splashs, just looked at the list for where there were some holes in my line up and then proceeded to guess which characters might be better than others - not a brilliant strategy.
Ike E Bear
Yeah, but if you had the cards in front of you, you would never, ever make an oops like that.
So, you are exonerated.
ssteven
Not necessarily. I had one deck last night with 3 x Ubu and 5 x Ra's (all versions) and very, VERY few ways of getting them out. In one game my first drop was 5 Bane. Bad bad times.

After watching 2 DC Drafts last night (I left my FNM deck at home and only had 1.5 decks!) I am know a lot more familiar with the cards and can definitely say that some of the picks I made are sub-par at best.

Commentary
The biggest question mark is perhaps the exclusion of Lady Shivan, Sandra Woosan for Killer Croc and Whisper A?Daire in the five cost slot. Killer Croc is a shoe in, as he?s much better than Lady Shiva, but Whisper A?Daire is a bit dodgier. Either could be used, with Lady Shiva being much better on defence. Whisper, however, has a nice controlling triggered power, which later in the game can be used to help seal the match.
Alfred should be primarily used to fetch the single copy of World?s Finest, but can also be used for card advantage on any turn where you have a spare resource point to spend. The biggest danger here is that he is vulnerable for a whole turn and can leak a lot of breakthrough if not properly protected. Be wary of recruiting him if your opponent has a flyer that can easily handle him.

Again, still not familiar with all the cards well enough to give a fully educated response here, but my experience is that Roy Harper is quite a fantastic card, especially considering you have two Titan's Towers, which by all rights appear to be solid first picks in draft. Not only do they work well together, you want to have as many Titans as possible - world's finest notwithstanding.

Additionally I think that Fear and Confusion is good enough to make any deck, Inmates or not.

Now what to cut for these two cards is another question. Your curve is pretty solid and that makes the Twin Firearms less interesting. I had this in draft a few times because I assumed it would be unvelieably good - but I guess there was a reason I was getting it 6th or 7th pick at a reasonably experienced table...

Won't go into specifics cause it would take too long and i'm at uni

Killer croc and mr freeze are easily splahable

the fact u got

2 titan towers
hawk and dove
raven

means u have to play teen titans

play all the unaffiliated plot twists including fear and confusion

you don't have to play the gone but not forgottens which will leave u with 12 plottwist/locations.

Id be tempted to run arkham/teen titans but in the long run running goth/titans/arkam will prolly win u more games... the only problem for goth knights is the loyalty which mean u'll prolly end up running alfred pennyworth
