Okay, its time for the Julie Andrews interlude....

Lets start at the very beginning, a very good place to start,
When you read you begin with ABC,
When you play VS you begin with......

Come on guys offer some suggestions....

What deck genre do you suggest (I'm gussing beat down)

What team is the easiest to construct on limited cards and budget?

Cheers

JJJ
PS: Decklists or fragments would be good.... hint, hint

Beatdown is probably your best bet for ease of use and affordability - however one of the best beatdown decks - Little Brotherhood - is actually quite expensive.

A deck that is actually quite cheap and can be effective is Xmen/Brotherhood based - soemthing like:

I'm bad with the second names, so

4 x Nightcrawler (2 drop)
4 x Toad
4 x Wolverine (3 drop)
4 x Rogue (3 drop)
2 x Rogue (6 drop)
4 x Mystique (3 drop)
4 x Arcade (this guy rocks on turn 3 with equip

4 x Dual Sidearms
2 x Jetpack/BorrowedBlade
2 x Advanced Hardware

4 x Marvel Team Up
4 x The New Brotherhood
4 x Flying Kick
2 x Acrobatic Dodge

All of the above are common/uncommon and a lot of these are available in the Marvel starter precon.

Some rares that would suppliment the deck nicely but you can get by w/o at the beginning

Cerebro
Nightcrawler Fuzzy Elf
and some of the other rare characters

It's partial only and obviously completely untested, but a deck like this nearly beat me at the PCQ (and should have if the guy knew how to play better). Turn 3 8/6 Wolverines are pretty hard for most decks to handle

If you "decide" on a deck, we're more than happy to donate the commons/uncommons to your cause - think of it as a VSParadise service for their staff smile.gif

Do you play other CCG's?
If so I would recommend using the starter deck to learn and then making a deck like the kind of decks that you play with in your other CCG's. Example, I play MtG and I love aggro-control decks so I made a Doom-FF deck

Is there anywhere i can find the cards? I know the names but not the cards...

Boris, im going to work on a card list to add to the resources page but until then I think vsuniverse.com has all the cards.

We'll be getting the full spoilers up and such but for now you can find them at vsuniverse.com

Starter decks are always a good play to start. They give you the basics and have a few good cards in them as well to start you off on your collection.

I endorse the starter approach. If you already know how to play the game they may suck, but for $25 you get a pretty good introduction to the cards and gameplay.

I'll put my support behind the various starters as well. Until you have some idea of exactly what you want to play with you can't really go wrong.

As a bonus, the later starters have included revised rule books to boot.
