Shiloh Norman <> Mister Miracle, Soldier of Victory
Character, 3, New Gods, 4/5
Evasion <p> Vengeance: Whenever Shiloh Norman becomes stunned while defending, you may remove target attacker from this attack if you control another New Gods character.

If Shiloh Norman becomes stunned while defending during attack conclusion, his triggered effect is added to the chain after that attack concludes but is removed immediately because there are no attackers to target.

- does the attacker ready? (they've never clarified whether or not that text emans does, or doesn't ready, usually they have it in brackets)

I believe that:

Shiloh Norman evades, triggering -> No defender since stunned.
Effect resolves -> attacking dude is no longer attacker.

Everyone passes -> attack conclusion.

No attackers, no defenders. Sighs. Move along. No one readies.
Ks-ap
it would seem pointless if it wasn't like that, but it does appear a bit good in various ltd situations.

The thing to remember here is that for an attack to conclude (which is when an attacker may ready), there must be no effects on the chain.

Because the vengeance trigger is still on the chain (upon evasion), as DarkJason has pointed out, the attacker does not yet ready when Shiloh becomes stunned. Once the effect resolves, which removes the attacker characteristic from the attacking character, then the attack concludes (empty chain). Since the character that was attacking no longer has the attacking characteristic, it does not ready.

I agree that he seems very good, possibly not just in limited (if curve is still alive and kicking, that is).

I know that I got confused by reading this.

The way I saw it the attack conclusion would involve no more attackers or defenders and SEL/BEL would apply.

I'm thinking of an analogy with Sinestro 6 but can't quite figure out how to say it so I'll just spout out gumpf.

Attack non-Sinestro 6 guy. Conclude attack. Your guy who attacked who is no longer an attacker and gets stuned via Sinestro's effect. (remember the whole debacle over Sinestro gets characters who can't be stunned while attacking)

I imagine the same thing would happen in this case with the New Gods guy. The attack conclusion would result in no attacker to be target.

This is of course if you were talking about the Shiloh getting stunned normally and not through his own evasion effect.

[edit]
Just read the FAQ. I see the source of the confusion now. Hopefully the Sinestro thing clears it up. I think if that senario was understood previously then this one should be fairly straightforward too.

I should have been clearer in my response - the FAQ is talking about the case where you choose not to evade Shiloh. My previous post actually talks about when you do evade Shiloh.

The FAQ statement simply means that if he gets stunned due to an attack concluding (not evading), there are no targets for his ability since the character(s) that were attacking no longer have the attacker characteristic.
