I thought htis could be a useful thread to check if people are thinking of going in on a given day. I will try and post here when I am going in, and would be very happy if others did too

Okay:
Sunday 1st October. I will be going in around 11am to playtest/draft/play in SA tourney.
Hope to see people there.

Thought you guys had your own secret forum anyways

Or at least all used MSN heh. I hope this doesn't give kakarot any ideas =(
So who won the tournament?

There was no SA tourney. We 2 on 2 drafted instead

I wish we did have a secret forum so i can barn decks etc. I think BFL are the only people in Melbourne that uses MSN to talk about VS; I only have 3 people on my MSN list that plays VS and i hardly ever talk VS to them anyway.
OT: I'm thinking about going to CH next Sunday to test SA; so if anyones definately going let me know and i'll try to make it. I won't be at CH this thursday so it'll be interesting to see if Migga can win the cash prize draft again without winning by default.

Well done Mith for winning the first $40. I would get you back this thursday but seeing as you wont be there that may be hard. 1 loss 3 weeks in a row, I just can't seem to be consistent with this set drafting anything other than Doom.
I thought it was a bit risky only playing 17 characters in the deck so imagine my suprise when Mith destroyed me in the final because I drew almost all characters (1 silver, 2 blue {one a character tutor!}, 0 green). He also made an excellent play with Exploiting the Flaw - that card is busted in limited!

Can someone post what exacly this 2V2 draft is? we only had 4 last Friday, and i hear most things beat a 4 man draft where dudes force the same ****.
2V2 draft isnt really that much of a departure from regular draft, its simply a better way of getting your money and times worth when you only have 4 players.
Essentially you have two teams of two players seated in a way so that teammates dont pass to each other. THen you draft, but you build decks together (but you cant swap cards; you just hep each other out). Then you play best of three matches against both other players. Typically then you get a 4-0, 3-1 or 2-2 result. If its 2-2, both teams choose a champion PRIVATELY, and those players play a tiebreaker.
Usually we play winners take all cards, but thats always up for negotiation.
Three on three teams can be even better, as you can do Rochester or play Booster with immediate results.

that is a good idea. I don't think card swapping would be that bad, then you can use signals etc.. also in pack review, seeing where your teammate is at would be good - basically it just gives you a better chance to draft gas, collectively.
- good idea though, and winning team takes all is good.

Okay - it is Thursday. I am going to try to make it in tonight. Hopefully to draft/test Silver.
Who else is coming in?

I'll be there. Hopefully, with kman and batmite to make numbers, i don't have to sponsor people to get an 8-man draft going...

you should move this thread out of gen chat, and into whichever forum has the "SGC today?" thread.

batmite if he turns up, is a really nice bloke. He can play cards witht the rest of us and it doesnt matter if he plays space bears (powerplay) in his SA deck?WTF?
i hope you guys get an unsponsored draft going?

Actually had 9 who wanted to draft last night. Migga got covered for an article and lucky managed to go 2-1 and not suffer public humiliation. Round 1 I was 30 something at the start of turn 8 when my opponent scooped. I won round 2 106 to -6. Is that a record?
But the clear winner was K-Man. All your base are belong to us!

Where's all this "nice bloke" stuff coming from? I sure have you all fooled!

Seriously, I had a ton of fun drafting with you guys last night. I'm definitely looking forward to the chance to do it again some time (and hopefully go slightly better

).

I'll be there and K-man as well but I don't know about the tournament. We are still trying to sort out decks and possibly will be just wanting to test and talk decks.
Speaking of whick, K-man whatever happened to "Lets talk about dicks"?

Well, I have lined up some people to interview during/after the Melb 10K, and organised some R+R time off work, so there will finally be an episode 2. No further hints at this point

Yup I will be there, as will Lindsay Igor, Trif and a few others. I don't mind playing an SA tourney personally, as it is a nice way to put a deck through a random gauntlet, adn we can then run a larger gauntlet afterwards.
I should be in a round 11:30am

Well, contrary to popular opinion I will be in tonight, around 6pm. so hopefully we get another draft up. I feel like I am beginning to hit my straps with this set

Also will be up for SA testing after.

...and Alex has put a curse on me. Ever since he arrived I have gone 2-1 in every single draft we have had. I have had some decks that I thought were simply unbeatable but I just can't bump da hump.

I can happily ressurect this thread with the exciting news (for me

) that I can now come in on this Thursday, contrary to previous rumours I had spread.
So for all of you MTU drafters, see you there.
I will also be bringing in a few Highlander decks, so for anyone prepared to take the Highlander challenge - bring it on

What time does the first and second drafts start? I actually might be able to make it tommorow but if I can it'll be later in the evening (after 6pm). Looking forward to drafting MTU and going 1-2 in it (obv beating alex)

Wish I could be there - had a blast last week drafting with the CH crew. Managed 2 on Thursday plus a couple of 4 mans and even some 1v1's the rest of the weekend - definitely good times!

I'm still not 100% about going to CH today but if i do I'll be there around 6:30ish
Alex: Obv number of times ive been to CH this month = 0;
Speaking of records do you by any chance remember my win-loss record against you Alex? Isn't that the more relevant statistic than the player of the month standings anyway?
