Cool Zero
As this part of the forum seems a little blank I thought Id start a topic on Meta Gaming.

Right now it all depends on where you are

In Sydney theres a lot of Big Brother (cause people spent lots of money to get the necessities for the deck and feel they have to play it <cough> Ray <cough>)

Common Enemy is/will also be big, as the Sydney Meta-game usually tends towards the latest winners of the latest big event. Heaven forbid Chris Foggin wins a PC with his Fearsome Five deck as you wont be able to get Mammoths anywhere (but you could get Psimons from Tony)

Sentinels is also around, although I don't think for long, as it is cheap but dies miserably to flame trap

the more popular decks also have come from DC, even though they may not be the strongest, more people have the cards from this set as it is the one more people have drafted with. If only poeple got into this game when it first came out!

When it comes down to it, if your deck can't beat Big Brother, Common Enemy or a beatdown strategy like TNB or Teen Titans, I wouldn't bother running it. If you can beat two of these type of decks then I say go for it and hope you don't hit your bad match-ups =) gl

yeah reminds me of the time i put ponza together when it was doin well, DXu went 16-0 with it at FNM then ponza sucked.

anyways, as for the 10k, yeah i'll most likely play BB, cause u know what? it's still good! just gotta mess around with the plot twists and mix n match for a non BB meta.

There are people still testing Gotham Knights and Teen Titans, if it can make an impact on the tournament scene is yet to be seen, the next few weeks will tell.

I hear voices...confused, directionless voices. They need help...they need guidance...they need ARKHAM!!!

I've spoken to 2 of the pre 10K favourites(Steven Montgomery & Sean Green)and both have said they are adamant that Arkham is the deck they'll be playing at the 10K event, mainly because nothing they've playtested against can regularly beat it.

There I've said it-if you guys don't win $$$ in September now you've only got yourselves to blame.

The Arkham deck, AKA Honest's Arkham Deck,is to be feared. It has SO many tricks (or tricksies, if you prefer) that as long as he can hit the drops (namely between 1-8) he'll probably win. Convincingly.

Hell, Ray WOWsais and Sam K were bashed like 0-12 by it last night, and they were using GOOD decks. Smell the TECH!

Yes Inmates can win with fantastic draws when it has odd initiative or with extremly good draws against an opponetns not so fantastic draws on the even initiative. However finding that consistency is difficult for a team that has no character tutors or plot twist searching. The closes thing you get to that is Prison Break which is mundane at best.

A comparrison between Sentinals and Inmates can be made. Both decks have the ability to just win when luck goes your way but equally both decks can err... for lack of a better word, fizzle.
