I am super excited to announce that we will be having a Web of Spiderman Sneak Preview event on Sunday the 12th of September.
This will be held at
Mercure Hotel Sydney on Broadway
818-820 George St
Sydney, NSW 2000
(same venue as the 10k and the PCQ)
This event will be held in the early afternoon, there will be a $20 dollar entry fee and will be single game matches, each player will recieve five packs of Web of Spiderman.
There will be limited entry event (this means that I only will be able to accommodate a certain amount of players). Registration for this event will start at 1pm and the event it self will start at 2pm - it will be on a first come, first served basis.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing you there!

After reading that there would be "Pre Releases" for WoS in the US on this very weekend, I got to wondering if there would be one at the CC.
Glad to see there is, now it makes me twice as unhappy that I can't make it.

At least the Set wasn't called "Web of Spider-friends"
Why not just call his affiliation The Gay Friends of Homo-Man and get it over and done with... oops hope Egg doesn't read this FAPPO

I think I know the answer to this, but I'm going to ask anyway.
"What are the chances of having (or at least trying to run) one of these at Supanova after the PCQ?"
Seeing as it's 2 days before the advertised release date etc.

That's awesome. But people who make Top 8 the day before can't play, right? Nor the folk who play in the PCQ on the 12th. If that's the case, I hope I get bashed now!

The $10k tourney is all in one day so I can't see that being an issue, however if you do well in the PCQ I imagine that will conflict

Aug 27 2004, 02:14 PM
and if you do well in the 10k event you probably wont be able to attend the pcq... if you do well this weekend... oh the conflict

Scott, I win the 10k. I'll play in the PCQ. You play in the Spiderman preview. Fair, no?

I think I win the $10,000 event and have to give half to Smith because I use one of his decks

It will be a hard choice between Web or PCQ although I think Marvel will win out for me.

SPIDER-MAN RULES!!!
I would LOVE to play in this, but it all depends on how the 10K event is going.
Oh the choices.

We repeat.
The $10k event is a one day tournament. It will not be in progress at the time of the Sneak Peak (The PCQ is another case entirely).

The 10k Event is a one day affair.
Take care,

gee i wonder how long the 10k event goes for?

So just what is the official announcement on the length of the 10K event. Every official posting I've seen describes the top 8 being held on Sunday. If this has changed to Saturday as most people here are indictating why isn't there any notification in the form of an official post?
Being from Interstate this is quite crucial to know so that I can mine and my fellow players trips.
Thanks for any help.

That's from an older thread on these forums and was posted by none other than Chris Zantides.

Tournament Length
$10K Championships start in the morning and end in the evening. If you perform well in the tournament, you should expect to stay late into the evening hours. |
This snippet is from further down the same post.
Everything points to a single day CC, with a PCQ and other miscellaneous side events on the Sunday.

I'd personally prefer top 8 to be on Sunday but at least this way If I finnish well I can sleep in on Sunday :}
I'd still like to hear from the organiser about this, but thanks anyway.

It seems there was a rumour floating around saying that this would be a two day event. I have no idea where or how that started... anyway it's a one day event.
Top 8 will be held after the swiss on Saturday, this will be a fairly late day Im thinking, even assuming my awesome staff.
See ya there!

I just read in a metagame.com article that there would be 8-man drafts on demand until stock ran out at the Spiderman sneak peek events. Will this be available at Sydney? Gosh I hope so.

Heaps good! Prereleases are always fun because of the casual environment, so I can't wait to be able to play in a Vs. one.
