 A New Paradise is Born If you are reading this, you have more than likely recently come across our new site. When I say “our” I mean myself (Scott Hunstad) and Paul Van Der Werk. You may have come across from our other gaming site – MTGParadise.com, or you may have hit this site from some other means. Regardless – welcome! Paul and I are quite keen on VS as a game, and see big things in the future of the game, particularly here in Australia. We’ll be having lots of cool things happening on the site – articles, reviews, reports, contests, giveaways, discussions, information, etc. Pretty much everything you need to get yourself going in the game and keep yourself interested. We have some columnists and writers coming on board who will be doing articles on the game from a variety of perspectives – anything from, “What the heck is this game anyway?” to higher level draft/constructed strategies. While there are no “pros” in the game as yet, some of our writers have been very successful in the Australian PCQ’s (Pro-Circuit-Qualifers) that have been held thus far, and have come across from Magic, so are quite familiar with CCG’s. We will be having lots of competitions and giveaways on the site as well. In fact, the site isn’t even yet live and we’ve already got one going. We’re giving away a box worth of boosters, randomly, just for signing up to our forums. Speaking of forums – if you’ve been to MTGParadise, you’ll probably be aware of the great forum community we have going there. People come there daily to chat about Magic, VS, and pretty much everything else. We’ve modelled the forums here on VSParadise closely after the ones there, as they’ve been tried and tested over the last 3 or 4 years. So join up and have a go. We have places for deck discussions, the competitions, places to ask rules questions, info on upcoming tournaments, etc. If you’re shop affiliated, we have a forum section for you to post up your tournaments and VS goings on. Basically it’s all there, or will be soon. Need cards? Bought too many already? Similar to MTGParadise, we have a Have/Want forum for trading and a Sales/Auctions forum for buying and selling. It’s a good way to get those cards you wouldn’t otherwise be able to find. So there you have it! We do have some writing/columnist and editor positions available – and Graphic Designers as well – if you are interested, contact us via the forums or at contact@vsparadise.com That’s about it for now – have a look around – we’ll be updating and adding new things daily, so make sure you check back often.
